Vins de Provence rosés: sales rise by 9% in 2021
After a 6% drop in 2020, winery sales bounced back by 9% last year, according to data released by the Provence Wine Council (CIVP). The recovery is mainly due to good export figures, fuelled by booming European markets, and increased sales in channels such as wine merchants and hospitality outlets.

Ilja Gort heeft zijn bedrijf min of meer aan zijn zoon overgedaan en veel wijnen de deur uit gedaan.
En opeens hadden ze geen alcoholhoudende rosé meer
Gisteren op FaceBook kondigde Gort aan dat ze weer, maar slechts beperkt, rosé gemaakt hebben.
Niet bij de AH maar alleen in de eigen webshop.
Meteen een doosje besteld en vandaag gekregen.
Van het weekeinde eens eentje proberen
En opeens hadden ze geen alcoholhoudende rosé meer

Summer is coming, and to me, that means it’s rosé season. I drink mostly reds during the winter, but when it’s warm, it’s time for pink. For me, the ideal rosé wine is light, refreshing and youthful. That doesn’t necessarily make it less complex than a bigger, darker wine.

As days grow longer, many of us turn to the great American summer pastime, drinking rosé. The rosé category grew an astonishing 1,433% between 2010 and 2020, and there are no signs of its popularity slowing down. According to global market research company bw166, rosé sales in supermarkets in the United States in 2010 was 149,000 cases, and by 2020 that had grown to 2,300,000 cases.

The frosts of April were just one of the challenges that vignerons faced here but they have risen to the challenge to produce an incredible range of creative rosés that are more delicate and pink than usual. I don’t have to buy rosé. That’s not how I’ll earn enough to buy a little stone house overlooking the Mediterranean. Nor do I have to put up with the incredulous expressions on my clients’ faces when in the shop I recommend a rosé. “What do you take me for, a hick?” their expression demands. Or “Try that one on the next sucker, mister.” Or, “Let’s move on to something more serious.”
In the course of my buying trips I run across excellent wines with a rosé color. I don’t look for them. They appear. What can Ido?

Waar te koop? Eind vorig jaar de "Perle de rosé" gedronken. Ik was behoorlijk onder de indruk. De fles was door een wijn vriendje, tijdens een bliksembezoek in september, in Frankrijk op het chateau gekocht.
