De MICHELIN Gids Nederland 2020 bekroont ongedwongen gastronomie met acht nieuwe sterren

Michelin maakt met veel genoegen de nieuwe selectie van de MICHELIN Gids Nederland bekend. De acht restaurants die een ster krijgen, bewijzen nogmaals dat gastronomie en schappelijke prijzen hand in hand kunnen gaan. Opvallend is dat maar liefst drie voormalige Bib Gourmand restaurants worden bekroond met een ster.


Hoe dan ook, Michelin blijft met afstand de No1 gids.

I have a role that puts me in contact with winery owners, analysts, entrepreneurs and occasionally even people with checkmarks next to their Twitter accounts. They run the gamut. I get a couple hundred emails a day - most of them junk but more than enough to have me working 12 hour days to keep up. People are always asking my opinion, and on occasion, they want to give me their opinion.

LONDEN - De in Frankrijk geboren sterrenkok en restauranthouder Michel Roux is na een lang ziekbed in zijn Engelse woonplaats Bray op 78-jarige leeftijd overleden. Dat heeft zijn familie donderdag bekendgemaakt in de Britse media.

Like the endless stream of lousy paintings sold at garage sales, or the ceaseless arguments for why climate change isn't real, the supposed principles and rules of food and wine pairing are nothing more than bad art or junk science. Holding food and wine pairings up as the apotheosis of the gustatory experience does far more harm than good -- both to consumers and to the wine industry -- because it turns wine from something universally simple and essential into something special and specialized that requires knowledge and skill to fully appreciate.
And that, my friends, is a sham of epic proportions.

Enjoying wine with dinner has been one of humanity's greatest pleasures since forever. So how in the world did it end up being a source of panic attacks and the fodder for hundreds of books and scores of useless smartphone apps?

Michel Guérard rend hommage à Pierre Troisgros disparu

C’était « une bande de copains façon Georges Brassens » commente ce matin Michel Guérard qui en faisait partie avec Jean et Pierre Troisgros (chef 3 étoiles de Roanne), mais aussi Paul Bocuse, Raymond Oliver. Des cuisiniers qui incarnaient dans les années 60-70 le renouveau de la gastronomie française, tranchant avec l’ancienne école d’Auguste Escoffier. Il revient avec Ludivine Tachon, et Thierry Guardet sur cette amitié qui le liait à Pierre Troisgros et cette disparition.

La triste nouvelle est tombée hier après-midi, mercredi 23 septembre : Pierre Troisgros, qui avec son frère Jean, inscrivit Roanne sur la carte de la gastronomie mondiale, s’est éteint à l’âge de 92 ans, non sans avoir transmis sa sensibilité et sa passion pour la cuisine à ses enfants, Claude, Michel, Anne-Marie et à ses petits-enfants. Retour sur un saga familiale qui n’a pas fini de s’écrire.
